At 12:41PM on January 5, 2011, Emmett Christensen was born! I am eternally grateful to my wife, Cristin, for nurturing our little man for nine months and counting.

The Artist

I barely remember this myself, but I am apparently a published poet. Back in fourth grade, I wrote a poem titled, "My Brother," and it got published in an anthology of student poetry. I was pretty dumb in fourth grade and couldn't have gotten the moral of the story more wrong; but I was supposedly creative long ago. I was also a surprisingly good sketcher, too, although I never really progressed beyond pencil. The picture to the far right is a drawing I made of myself when I was in 9th grade. I've gotten a little fatter, but still look pretty much the same.

Recently, I both moved and had to clear out my parents' house in Minnesota. As a result, I found a lot of old stuff that I'm still proud of, although I'm still looking for a poem I wrote in eighth grade about stepping on bugs and a movie I made as a high school freshman titled, "Scrog Wars." Still, it's fun to see what one can do artistically with a little effort. It's all inspired me to be more creative as an adult.
